Addiction impacts teens differently than it does adults. Teens drug and alcohol abuse is often a means of coping with physical and emotional trauma, social and family issues, and unaddressed mental health problems. Left without the proper tools or outlet for these challenges, teens may develop addictive habits and other destructive behaviors, which interfere with their ability to function properly at school, work, or in the home. Teen substance abuse is not a problem that should be ignored, as illicit subsances become a barrier that hinder mental, emotional, and physical growth and development into adulthood.
At Safe Landing, we work diligently to correct negative self-image, build confidence and self-esteem, and provide a safe place for addressing other underlying causes of addiction. Through individual, group, and family counseling, we focus on personal accountability, mindfulness, and developing positive means of processing stress and emotional challenges. Following a comprehensive behavioral health assessment upon admission, our behavioral health specialists curate an individualized treatment program designed for optimal effectiveness. Parent(s) or legal guardian(s) are kept informed and involved at each level of care, helping to heal and promote support as a family unit.
Safe Landing also facilitates opportunities for bonding and teamwork among our clients. We break through the isolation of addiction to promote healing together and unity with a focus on effective communication skills. We delve into interpersonal relationships, setting and respecting personal boundaries, and conflict resolution. Gender and age specific group therapy sessions at Safe Landing also provide a judgement-free space for self-expression and support.
Above all, our team is dedicated to changing lives of our youth and helping them move forward in realizing their full potential. Our earnest belief that your teen's past does not have to dictate their future is the driving force in everything we do.
Education is important. That’s why Safe Landing provides treatment options that take school into consideration. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is flexible to allow children and teens to remain in school while still receiving the care they need to overcome addiction. Schedules for IOP are 3-5 days for 2-3 hours per day with a strong emphasis on parental involvement every step of the way. This course is ideal for balancing life responsibilities and recovery for teens.
In the case of adolescents who require more structure and care, we offer an intensive partial hospitalization program (PHP) 5 days a week for 5 hours a day. Here the focus is on blending treatment and education into one through virtual schooling, in-class instruction for core subjects, GED, SAT, ACT, and college prep, and career coaching. The Safe Landing summer rehab program is also a great alternative which allows teens to focus on the recovery process completely during the summer vacation months between school years. Your teen can overcome substance abuse while stillworking toward graduation and their future!
Our educational programs also include health and physical wellness, medication management, and psychoeduaton to ensure long-term sobriety. We strive to promote well-rounded growth and character building through life skills training, teaching real tools that are applicable to life.
