Avin’s Recovery Story

Avin was only 7 years old when he stole prescription pills for the first time. Exposed to substance abuse at a young age, his addiction journey began as mimicry; he began using drugs because he thought it was cool and what everyone else was doing. By age 11 he was also drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana only to graduate to methamphetamine and heroin three years later. After experiencing his first overdose, Avin’s family brought him to Safe Landing Recovery where he says his eyes were opened for the first time to the reality of his situation. Having the clarity of realizing how deep his substance abuse had become, Avin recognizes his own power to change the path of his future.
